Cultural heritage has always been considered as the preserved root of our civilization made by our ancestors. It expresses the elementary progress of our abilities and growth of our values. By its conservation, we revere the past acts and moreover support its educational purposes. It is too complex to certainly describe its value, however what we come to agree is its protection in any circumstances. This is becoming still more challenging with war and terrorism spread including more powerful forces. Even with generally accepted war laws, conventions for the protection of cultural heritage, or the help of NGOs, which will be mentioned in further chapters, it is apparent, that the politics led so far is insufficient. The aim of ECOSOC is hence clear – to develop efficient and sustainable safeguarding plan to protect both, tangible and intangible cultural heritage in case of war or any armed conflict.
